Join UK Anti-Doping for Clean Sport Week, 13 – 17 May

  • UK Anti-Doping’s (UKAD’s) Clean Sport Week campaign will take place from 13 - 17 May 2024

  • Clean Sport Week is UKAD’s national awareness week championing clean sport, education and anti-doping initiatives with sports across the UK

  • The theme this year is ‘Journey to the Podium’

UKAD invites everyone working and participating in sport to join in with Clean Sport Week, from 13 – 17 May 2024.

Clean Sport Week gives the sporting community a chance to celebrate clean athletes and discuss anti-doping in an informal, yet impactful way.

This year, Clean Sport Week will showcase the importance of clean sport through the lens of athletes and those around them. The theme, Journey to the Podium, will demonstrate the hard work that athletes must put in behind the scenes to make it to the top of their sport or to a podium. It will also highlight the important role anti-doping should play in every athlete and support personnel’s journey – it should never be an afterthought.

Jane Rumble, Chief Executive at UKAD, said: “Clean athletes work tirelessly to reach the very top of their sport. Doping in any form, whether it’s from a competitor, a teammate, or by an individual inadvertently, takes away that podium moment for some and the hard work of many involved, wasting hours of professional support given by coaches, physios, doctors and nutritionists, among other athlete support personnel. It is essential for the integrity of sport to create a clean culture, and to establish an environment that prioritises the health and welfare of athletes.

“Clean Sport Week is an opportunity for athletes and everyone who cares about fair play, to speak publicly about why clean sport matters. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone in the sporting community getting involved this year.”

During the week, UKAD will be discussing education and anti-doping initiatives, as well as telling the stories of athletes through impactful case studies. Be sure to follow @ukantidoping on social media and share with your sporting community the Clean Sport Hub to help them understand anti-doping and why clean sport is so important.

You can also join UKAD on Tuesday 14 May for our in-person networking event focussing on the para-athlete’s journey to the podium – including a panel discussion led by Giles Long MBE, triple Paralympic Gold medallist. Register your interest in attending here.
