Dr Mark Stuart Awarded OBE in King's Birthday Honours 2026 for services to the pharmacy profession in sport and to anti-doping

UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) is delighted to congratulate Dr Mark Stuart, who has been appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the King's Birthday Honours 2026, in recognition of his services to the pharmacy profession in sport and to anti-doping.

Dr Mark Stuart OBE

Over a career spanning more than 25 years, Mark has become a highly respected figure in sports pharmacy internationally. He has supported UKAD since 2002 as the UK pharmacist expert in drugs in sport for Global DRO, which involves processing new UK licensed medications and ingredients on the Global DRO platform each quarter.

Mark has served as a member of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Prohibited List Expert Group since 2014, advising on which substances are banned in sport each year. He currently serves as Head of the ITA Academy at the International Testing Agency in Lausanne, Switzerland, Chair of the European Olympic Committees Medical and Anti-Doping Commission, and European Continental Representative to the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Medical Commission.

Jane Rumble, Chief Executive of UKAD, said:

"Dr Stuart’s OBE represents a highly deserved recognition of his extraordinary contribution to sport, pharmacy, and clean competition. His expertise and dedication have helped to shape anti-doping and sports pharmacy practice at the very highest level. We’re grateful for his continued support."
